Opening spectacle in Willingen
Next weekend the cycling scene will meet again at the BIKE Festival in Willingen. The cool thing about this venue, as every year, is that participants can not only race but also experience a unique festival atmosphere. Not only will you meet well-known brands and people from the scene, but you will also be offered a varied festival programme.
In addition to the iXS Downhill Cup, many other races will take place, such as the Shimano Gravel Ride, the Enduro Race, which will be held as the German Championship, the Bosch E-Mtb Challenge supported by Trek and the VPACE Kids Cup, as well as several other sporting highlights. This year, more than 40,000 visitors and 3,500 active participants are expected! In addition, there will be the largest German outdoor event in the MTB sector with around 150 well-known brands. Thus, Willingen once again offers the perfect platform for a kick-off of the downhill series on the Ettelsberg.
This year's track has a total length of 1.6 kilometers with about 300 meters of altitude for the riders. Known for its technical sections with roots and stones, Willingen also has a lot of jumps to offer.
Statement Robert Otto, Dirtworks:
We are trying to get the maximum out of the mountain again. There will be new track elements and the line will be slightly changed compared to last year. So you can look forward to it!
It remains exciting to see what the podium will look like this year and we are looking forward to motivated athletes at the BIKE Festival in Willingen!
